OUR 2024 CHARITIES
Since inception MERC is proud to have championed a wide range of worthy charities with cumulative donations of more than $700,000.
MERC is more than just a competition it is an opportunity for us to support charities who are making a difference in the lives of people daily. This year we are thrilled to be supporting The Fiona Wood Foundation & Blue Tree Project as our Charity Partners for the MERC 2024.
This year we raised a total of $85,140
Fiona Wood Foundation
The Fiona Wood Foundation is an independent not-for-profit Led by Professor Fiona Wood, with a vision to deliver scarless healing in mind and body to those who suffer from burn injuries.
“We exist for current and future patients, knowing that every intervention from the point of injury influences the scar worn for life. Education is pivotal to our strategic mission and vision of scarless healing. We support the Burns Service of WA in delivering critical burn education and enhancing first aid knowledge throughout Western Australia.”
With the backing of MERC 2024, the Foundation will continue to expand their educational outreach and delivery of burn education across WA.
Founded with a mission to help spark important conversations and encourage people to speak up when experiencing mental health concerns, Blue Tree Project is a not-for-profit mental health organisation focused on raising awareness about mental health issues and “Kicking the stigma of mental health, one blue tree at a time.”
You can find blue trees across every continent of the world (minus Antarctica) with each blue tree acting as a beacon of hope and visual reminder to start important conversations.
We’re proud to continue supporting Blue Tree Project in our fourth year of partnership, helping them spread the message that “It’s OK to not be OK” and to encourage support for those experiencing mental health struggles.
