  • Each volunteer is eligible for one complimentary polo shirts and one complimentary hat.
  • Additional shirts ($35 each) can be purchased by credit card via the booking site.
  • Polo shirts are available in ladies, mens and childrens sizes, in either long or short sleeve. Further sizing information can be found here.
  • Team members can opt for either a wide brimmed hat or a cap. Additional hats are not available for purchase.

  • Limited tickets are available to purchase to attend the Awards Ceremony, for $190 per person.

Volunteer Teams

Volunteers who have been assigned to scenarios or specific roles will have an Event Manager. Your Event Manager should have been in touch with you to advise of your role’s requirements. If you have any queries you can contact your Event Manager directly.

At the Competition

  • All volunteers will be provided with one polo shirt and one hat, that is given to your Event Manager.
  • If you are not directly involved with an event team or are a newly appointed volunteer, your uniform will be available to collect from the administration building.
  • If you did not order your shirt or hat via TryBooking, we will do our best to accommodate your sizing and preferences.
  • All volunteers are required to wear a MERC shirt each day of the competition. As this is a two day event and clothes washing may be difficult, you can wear a MERC shirt from a previous year.
  • Long trousers and closed in shoes are a must for ALL volunteers.
  • Your Event Manager will let you know if there is any specific PPE required for your role.

Lunch
All volunteers will be provided with lunch on Saturday, 26 November, kindly donated by Rapid Relief. On Sunday, 28 November lunch can be purchased from onsite food vendors.

General
Hot beverages, snacks, soft drinks and bottled water will be available, for purchase, from onsite vendors.

Hydration
Adequate hydration is required for the human body to function efficiently in hot environments.

In line with MERC’s COVID-19 plan, we will be using single use water bottles and water will be available for all teams. Teams are requested to supplement this allocation by bringing additional water bottles. This additional requirement will be listed on the team equipment list.

Recycling
Please note that there will be recycling bins on the grounds. Any funds raised from recycling of bottles will be donated to the Blue Tree Project.

  • Parking on the competition grounds is strictly prohibited and parking infringements will be issued to offending vehicles.
  • The grounds will be fully fenced, with access from the main entrance gate on Plain Street only.
  • Limited street parking bays are available on Terrace Road.
  • The closest City of Perth carpark is located on Plain Street.
  • Please note there is a cost associated with parking in the CBD.

Observers
MERC is a free event, open to the public. Family and friends are encouraged to attend the competition and observe events. Observers must stay behind the fenced areas and under no circumstances enter the secure scenario areas. Please inform family and friends of these regulations.

MERC will have an interactive display area, a mini expo and a dedicated kids’ area.

Please advise family and friends to come dressed for the outdoor event with hats, sunscreen and sunglasses. Scenarios will have stadium type seating available for watching the action.
